Kelly Rowland has pulled out of this weekend's X Factor live show after falling ill, it has been confirmed. The singer's spokesperson has announced that Kelly will not be present for the weekend's fourth live final after suffering from a throat infection while on a business trip in LA this week.
Kelly flew out to the states on Monday and was due back on Thursday, but failed to return and was not present at today's final rehearsals.
In a statement, Kelly's rep explained: "Kelly is devastated she won't be here for this weekend's show. She is extremely ill with a viral throat infection and her doctors aren't permitting her to fly.
"Kelly will be returning to the show as soon as she has recovered. The girls have been in touch to wish her speedy recovery and they can't wait for her to get back. More news as we have it."
It'll be only the second time in the show's history a judge has missed a live show, following Louis Walsh taking two weeks out due to the death of Boyzone member Stephen Gately in 2009.
Earlier today we caught up with Kelly's acts backstage, and they revealed the US star had still been speaking to them "every day" about tomorrow night's show and the Halloween themed performances.
And it seems producers aren't happy with Kelly's excuse.
A show source told the Mail Online: "Quite honestly, it’s expected that the judges would have to be on their death bed to miss a show.
"The fact that Kelly has a throat infection hardly seems that desperate.
"The producers are less than impressed and we’ve have had less than 24 hours to pick someone to stand in for her."
