Poor old X Facto r judge Louis Walsh has been getting a bit of flack over the past week, with reports today suggesting show bosses tried to get rid of him before the new series started, and Sami Brookes demanding he be axed! But JLS, who Louis mentored back in 2008, have jumped to his defence.
The boys, who finished second on the show, have become one of the programme’s most successful acts and by far the most successful group to appear.
Speaking at the launch of their third album, Aston Merrygold said: "We don’t care what they are saying about him.
"I think that Louis is an essential judge on the X Factor. So we hope that Louis will be there for a very long time."
He added: “Louis has been an incredible mentor for the entire competition at the X Factor. He’s still doing an incredible job.”
And the boys also said they wanted to see Simon Cowell back on the show, with Aston saying: “Everyone wants Simon to come back, and he should come back. He is Mr X Factor."
Hunky bandmate Marvin Humes added: “He’ll make a special appearance one day. Maybe he should have a golden chair, where he can sit and look at Louis and Gary, and tell them when to speak.”
