X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has reportedly taken over mentoring Sophie Habibis, after the girls' mentor Kelly Rowland jetted out to the states. According to The Sun, Tulisa and Sophie have been hitting off backstage, exchanging song ideas and thoughts ahead of Saturday's live show.
Louis Walsh had previously accused Kelly of 'neglecting' the 19-year-old in favour of Janet Devlin and Misha B, saying: "I really feel sorry for poor Sophie. Kelly is putting all her work into the other two girls. I wish she would give Sophie some attention. It’s sad.”
And with Kelly having flown out to LA for the week, Tulisa took the chance to take over, despite having a go at Kelly for doing the same thing with her groups.
"Sophie has made no secret of the fact that she thinks Tulisa is brilliant and that she'd love her to be her mentor," a source told the newspaper.
"She, like all Kelly's acts, was surprised to learn that she was going to be left high and dry this week. With Kelly over in LA and the eight-hour time difference she's decided Tulisa would be easier to talk to."
The insider added: "They are like two peas in a pod — both young from a similar part of North London and both have a Mediterranean background.
"They get on like a house on fire backstage and are always gassing away like sisters. Tulisa has said she sees a lot of herself in Sophie."
What will Kelly say when she returns?!
