The X Factor 2011 final 16 reunited yesterday as they filmed the video for their charity single, a cover of 'Wishing On A Star'. The filming for the track, which will be released next month, saw the singers visit the Shooting Star's children’s hospice.
The group met the family and friends of ill kids who will benefit from sales of the single, which this year will go towards ACT & Children’s Hospices UK. They work to ensure that every one of the 23,500 children and young people unlikely to reach adulthood receive the best possible care and support, along with their families.
16-year-old Amelia Lily, booted off of the show during the first week, said: "All the children at the hospice today reminded me that just because I have diabetes doesn't mean I’m not normal, we are special. We all are."
Sophie Habibis added: "Thank you to everyone who gave me the pleasure to spend the day with some wonderful children and their families.
"Will never forget this day."
Even usually sleazy Frankie Cocozza smarted up for the visit, saying: "Met some quality people today, feel so lucky to be doing what I'm doing"
