X Factor wannabe Johnny Robinson has said he wants to team up with Dame Shirley Bassey if he makes it to the final. Speaking to PA, Johnny also revealed his delight after being tweeted by Kylie Minogue, following his performance of Can't Get You Out Of My Head.
He revealed: "That was a real compliment, coming from such a well-known, established, hard-working female artist. A pop princess, I should say! I was well smitten. I love a bit of Kylie."
But Johnny, who both wowed and surprised with a cover of The Darkness' I Believe In A Thing Called Love last Saturday, said his "dream collaboration" would be Shirley Bassey.
"She's amazing. Someone who's got longevity and are artists, they are proper icons," he said. "People that I aspire to like Tina Turner, Barbra Streisand, Kate Bush, George Michael - I think he's a great singer, I'd duet with Elton John.
"All the greats - David Bowie, people like that - the people who have been in the business for a long time and are not just a product for two years and gone. They are people who actually work hard for their craft."
