With only two live shows complete, it's still early days on The X Factor 2011, but things are looking good for The Risk. The boys - Charlie Healey, Derry Mensah Ashley John-Baptiste and Andrew Merry have become the first group ever to be favourites to win the show.
“The Risk have been the subject of a massive gamble with bets of up to £3000 being staked on them to win,” said William Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
“Our punters seem more than willing to take the risk that a band will finally win the show this year.”
The group were originally formed at bootcamp from failed solo singers, before being re-formed at judges' hosues after Tulisa replaced some members with Charlie Healey from another group, The Keys.
The four piece have so far won priase from the judges, and are buiding a big fanbase on the likes of Twitter and Facebook. Could they become the first group to go all the way?
The Risk are the 9/4 favourites to win this year’s show with Janet Devlin 5/2 and Misha Bryan 9/2. Conversely, Sami Brookes is the 5/2 favourite to be eliminated this weekend with Johnny Robinson 4/1 and Rhythmix 9/2.
