He have been on the end of some harsh criticism from the Take That star, but Johnny Robinson has insisted he still loves Gary Barlow - and in fact has a little crush on the man band star! Who can blame him, really?
Speaking about Gary's harsh comments towards him, Johnny said: “Gary is the new Simon so he’s got to give constructive criticism and he’s more than welcome to give that. I would have quite liked Gary [as a mentor] because he’s quite gorgeous but I’m very lucky with Louis.
“At the end of the day it’s an entertainment show, and I’m here just to make people happy and to have fun.”
Speaking at a live Q&A chat from this week’s rehearsals, Johnny confessed that he had applied for the show simply to find work - whether it meant a chart topping single or a gig at a holiday park.
He explained: “I always stated from the very beginning that I just went in looking for work, and I said even if it was Butlins or Bognor Regis I’d have been happy as long as I was singing or entertaining.
“I didn’t expect to get this far, but then I should think myself very, very lucky because there were a lot of people who didn’t make it through. It’s the best experience I’ve ever had in my life.”
This week Johnny will be hoping to avoid the axe as the contestants perform rock songs.
