X Factor 2011: Kelly Rowland defends Amelia axe, saying she'll "get over it"!

Kelly Rowland has defended her decision to axe Amelia Lily from The X Factor two weeks ago, saying she'll and Amelia's fans will get over it. Speaking to heat, Kelly insisted the choice was the correct one to make.

The first live results show of the series saw the judges each kick out one of their own acts, with Amelia, 2 Shoes, Jonjo Kerr and James Michael all getting the chop.

Kelly said: “I had to be smart and make the best decision for the girls.

"Amelia is so talented, but she’s only 16 years old and there is so much to learn in this business.

She continued: “Not to say that she isn’t ready, but just to sharpen up her skills a bit more, because Misha, Sophie and Janet are some really serious contenders.”

And following abuse for her decision, Kelly said everyone just needed to "get over it".

The former Destiny's Child songstress explained: “No matter what decision I made, someone was going to be upset. Me, them, the public. Shoot, I got people p*ssed with me online! They’ll get over it, the same way I have to.”
