X Factor 2011: Kitty Brucknell's parents proud after singer survives public vote

Kitty Brucknell

X Factor hopeful Kitty Brucknell has some very proud parents this week, after the wacky singer managed to survive the first public vote on Sunday night. The kooky performer managed to escape being in the bottom two, after closing Saturday night's show with a dazzling rendition of Bjork's It's Oh So Quiet.

Parents Mary and Eric Edwards told the local newspaper: "It was fantastic but it didn't do my nerves any good. We were so pleased for her. She has put in all the hard work and it really showed in her performance.

"It's great to see people are voting for her. Now we'll have to go there next week and go through it all again."

Kitty's appearance at the weekend saw her become a dark version of Alice, as she lef the judges close to speechless with her Mad Hatter's Tea Party set.

But it was enough to get enough votes to survive the public vote, for this week anyway....

(Even if 126 came from the blonde singer herself)
