X Factor hopeful Frankie Cocozza was apparently raging after Gary Barlow changed his song choice at the weekend, confiding his is own fans that the Take That star's last minute swap would see him in the bottom two. And he wasn't wrong, with the 18-year-old narrowly escaping elimination.
Judges decided to send home Nu Vibe instead of Frankie, after both of the acts found themselves in the bottom two following the public vote.
According to The Sun, Frankie Cocozza had raged at the song choice as he spoke to fans before Saturday's show.
"There were a lot of fans waiting outside the studio," a source told the newspaper. "When Frankie popped out for a cigarette to calm his nerves he told them not to expect much because he'd been given a **** song.
"He was grumpy about performing it and rightly predicted it would land him in the bottom two. But he didn't dare go against Gary. He was upset, frustrated and worried."
After eventually performing Coldplay's The Scientist on the show, Louis Walsh moaned: "That was a very, very average song choice that just didn't work."
And Tulisa added: "I have to be honest, I wasn't too sure about the song choices this week.
"The choices are a bit repetitive from you. It always seems to be the same vibe."
Talking about the sing off, Frankie revealed: "Gary felt responsible. He says I can get my cheekiness back next week. And maybe there will be a chance of some female dancers.
He added: "Yeah, I'm looking forward to next week and I can't wait to put on the performance that I want to. It's gonna be big.
"I'm going to go all out. I'm just going to go for it."
