With the voting lines open, it must be time for an X Factor sob story, and this morning it comes from Misha B. The 19-year-old,who really doesn't need to tug at our heartstrings for votes after an amazing performance last night, has spoken about growing up without a mum.
The talented teenager was abandoned when she was just a few months old, leaving her auntie to raise her.
"All of my life I’ve had something in the back of my head, wondering why my mum wasn’t there,” she told The Mirror. “As a child you always want your real mum and, although I had my auntie who was as good as any mother, I still wanted to ask my real mum, ‘Why weren’t you there when I was growing up?’”
But despite having so many questions, Misha has revealed she's never had the courage to confront her mum, who now lives just two miles away.
"I’ve not seen her this year and I don’t have any plans to invite her down to the show," the youngster explained. "We don’t have that kind of relationship. She hasn’t tried to contact me since I’ve been on. Maybe I will get in touch one day, but only when I’m ready.”
And if she wins The X Factor, Misha already has big plans.
"I want to set something up called Misha B’s Dream, Believe, Achieve Foundation,” she said. “There are a lot of young people out there who haven’t been given a chance.
“I want to show them that if I can make it, then anyone can.”
