Viewers will be able to vote via text on The X Factor for the first time in three years starting tonight, but there doesn't appear to be sign of any Facebook voting as previously rumoured. Big Brother became the UK@s first reality TV show to allow voting via social networks earlier this year, but it doesn't look as though X Factor will follow suit.
Instead, bosses have brought back text voting, which was axed in 2007 after voting scandals plagued telly shows.
Texts will cost 35p, the same as phone calls, but lines will close earlier in order to ensure all votes are properly counted towards the 12 remaining finalists.
The two contestants who receive the fewest votes between the end of tonight's show and tomorrow's live results programme will face the vote off, with the judges deciding which of the pair leave the show.
