X Factor 2011 hopeful Janet Devlin will sing through the pain on tomorrow night's live show to make her granddad proud. The 16-year-old found out yesterday that 83-year-old Michael Devlin had suddenly passed away after falling ill on Monday.
Despite show bosses offering the talented teenager the option to sit out the week in order to attend the funeral tomorrow, Janet will instead continue to perform.
An insider told The Sun: "Janet discussed the situation with her parents. Her granddad was so proud of her and loved to listen to her sing.
"Janet and her family knew he'd want her to perform this weekend."
They added: "All of the contestants have rallied round her. Janet will be focusing on her performance and channelling all her energy into her song in memory of her grandad. She wants to make him proud."
