Wacky X Factor contestant Kitty Brucknell received her first fan mail yesterday, and no, it wasn't from us! The kooky singer was apparently overjoyed as show bosses delivered bags of letters to the remaining contestants after the weekend's first show.
Kitty, who has been building up a following on Twitter over the past few days, told The Mirror: "Wow, it was so amazing to get messages from people saying they find me inspirational and that they want me to do well. It breaks my heart to read some of the stories of what people are going through themselves, but now I am determined to do well for them.
"I know some viewers don't like me but I don't want to let down the people who are supporting me. It is insane that some of these people look up to little old me. I want to stand up for everyone who wants to break from the norm and wants to be a bit different.
"The messages have given me a real boost after a tough weekend. I'll keep singing my heart out, that's all I want to do."
Unsurprisingly, it was Frankie Cocozza who picked up the most messages from fans when the acts were given the goodies earlier this week.
A source blabbed to the newspaper: "The acts can't believe the support they have. They were mobbed for autographs at the weekend and it is only the first weekend of shows. It can only get bigger and better for the singers who stay in till the end. This is just a taste of how crazy life will be for the winner."
