We were more then a tad gutted to see Amelia Lily leave The X Factor last night, as well as 2 Shoes and James Michael. The judges were forced to each axe one of their own contestants, but did they make the right decision? Unfortunately, the answer seems to be yes...
Ideally such a twist would've never happened, if only because Kelly Rowland's four girls were all far too good to have gone home in week one, and all could have quite easily managed to make it to the final if given the right support.
Unfortunately, X Factor producers love drama, and one of them had to go.
Did Kelly make the right choice? It was always going to be a vote between Sophie Habibis and Amelia, as Janet Devlin and Misha B were simply too good to lose. On the night, and unfortunately Amelia did fall short, not helped by a bizarre song choice and awful restyling by the make up team.
For the groups, and Tulisa didn't have anywhere near as hard a choice, despite the tears. We loved 2 Shoes when we had the chance to chat to them last week, but they were the worst of the night, again not helped by an awful karaoke song choice.
For the boys, and Gary Barlow also had a tough choice to make. Craig Colton and Marcus Collins were both favourites and went through without fail, leaving a battle between James Michael and Frankie Cocozza. Singing wise, neither were brilliant, but it was clear who had the star potential, and so James was sent packing.
Louis Walsh had the easiest decision of the night, with even Gary Barlow telling him the night before who to eliminate. In reality, aside from Sami Brookes, Louis could have got rid of any of his acts without a big outcry. It was Jonjo's unlucky day however, and he was the one sent home from the overs. While a top chap, Jonjo was never really going to go far in the show and was our prediction to be first eliminated even without a twist.
Now we're left with just 12 acts, vote for your favourite in our poll below....
