16-year-old Amelia Lily brought the house down on tonight's first live X Factor show as the finalists took to the stage in order to win over the judges. With one contestant from each of the four categories facing the axe tomorrow night, it was all to sing for.
Performing a rock arrangement of Michael Jackson classic Billie Jean as part of the week's US v UK theme, all of the judges were full of praise.
Louis Walsh raved: "You're 16, you're opening the show! I loved the arrangement; I loved the style... absolutely amazing! You deserve to be on that stage!"
N-Dubz star Tulisa said: "I'll tell you what, everything from your energy to your vocals to your performance was amazing. I didn't see you as a contender until now, what an amazing performance... blew me away."
But while Gary was pleased, he wasn't completely overwhelmed. The hard to impress Take That singer added: "That was a really great opening to the show, it wasn't amazing, but it was really good. You're 16 and you're opening the X Factor live shows. Amazing courage."
Amelia's mentor Kelly added: "I am so incredibly proud of you, I know how much it means to you, listen to the feedback, it speaks for itself."
