Former X Factor winner Matt Cardle will return to the show on Sunday night to perform his new track, it has been confirmed. He'll be joined by US singer - and judge on American show The Voice - Cee Lo Green on the first live results show of the series this Sunday.
Mat will be performing his new single 'Run For Your Life', which was penned by new X Factor judge Gary Barlow.
But it'll be a bit of an awkward moment for Matt, who last month moaned about wanting to ditch the X Factor tag and his association with the show. He whinged: "I’m desperate to shake off The X Factor tag now. It’s all about shaking the X when it comes to the music I’m about to release.”
But despite saying it was time for him to “move on” from the show, he’s happy to come back to plug the single, out on the Sunday.
Matt revealed: “I will be crapping my pants once again on that show, but I will be with my band and singing something I really feel.”
He added: “I thought it would be great because Simon [Cowell] won’t be there and he won’t be judging me with his hawk eye, but Gary wrote that track and I want to sing it with the conviction it deserves.”
Cee Lo Green meanwhile will perform new track 'Cry Baby'
The pair will compliment the first theme of the series - US v UK music.
