X Factor 2011 hopeful Melanie McCabe has revealed how Kelly Rowland's judges' houses was "intense" when filming earlier this month. Melanie and seven other hopefuls jetted out to Miami to sing for a place in the live shows, but it was far from a holiday.
Together with pal Jennifer Hudson, Kelly put the girls through the paces as she was given the tough task of having to pick just four girls to continue in the competition.
“Bootcamp was hard, but the judges’ houses was much harder because there was so much pressure and emphasis on you the whole time — you have to do well," the Irish hopeful told The Irish Herald.
And it seems mentor Kelly Rowland had the girls working hard.
Melanie revealed: “Once we got there it was straight into pure work and four days of intense challenges. We had jetlag and no time to sleep — we were up every morning at half-six to get ready for the cameras.
“It was so hot over there during filming — we had to film certain scenes like 10 times and it was roasting — my make-up was melting off me."
Speaking about the trip, Kelly revealed this week: “Let me promise you, judges’ houses was not a holiday for them. I wanted them to have fun, but they weren’t there to chill out on the beach, they were there to walk.”
Melanie will be seen this weekend competing for a spot in the final four girls, going head to head with Amelia Lily, Sarah Watson, Janet Devlin, Jade Richards, Misha Bryan, Holly Repton and Sophie Habibis.
