X Factor 2011 winner

In the run up to The X Factor 2011 launch tomorrow night, the folks over at Betfair have looked at the vital stats of the past seven X Factor winners to identify what makes the ultimate contestant - and this year's likely winner. He is a single, 5ft 9in tall man, aged 21, with brown hair, brown eyes, living with his parents in London.

It would seem brown is the new black with every winner to date boasting a dark barnet. To match their locks this year's winner is likely to be a brown-eyed boy. Of the show's seven winners five have had brown eyes, with only Leona Lewis (green) and Matt Cardle (blue) bucking the trend.

To put a face to the facts and figures, Betfair has worked with an artist to create an impression of this year's champ. The photofit is made up of Steve Brookstein's hazel brown eyes, Matt Cardle's characteristic nose, Joe Mcelderry's youthful complexion and trendy quiff hairstyle, with Shane Ward's seductive mouth. Also included is Leon Jackson's defined jaw line and chin, and a mixture of the beautifully formed ears of two of the most famous and tuneful winners - Alexander Burke and Leona Lewis.

With the exception of Steve Brookstein who won the first series in 2004 and reigning champion Matt Cardle, every winner to date has been under the age of 25 - with this year's winner expected to be just 21-years-old and born in the month of April. Men are by far the most popular contestants making up five of the past seven winners - with 2011's victor looking likely to add to the show's high male success rate.

This year's winning singer is also expected to be an only child, just as three of the past seven idols have been. The star-to-be is also likely to hold down a stopgap job before embarking on a fruitful career in the music industry as 85 per cent of previous success stories have - with Matt Cardle moving from painter to pop star and Leona Lewis swapping waitressing for warbling.

Betfair's Alex Bake said: "Boasting all the features that made the previous winners great, this composite contestant would be an absolute shoo-in for this year's X Factor crown. I'm sure if he was to audition in front of Louis and co, our punters would make him a clear favourite in the betting."

And we even have a picture of what he might look like...
