With weeks to go until the start of The X Factor 2011, we take a trip down memory lane to last year’s series of The X Factor and see what the finalists are up to now. How many of finalists are still recording and selling music? And how many have just gone back to their day job already?
There's been mixed rewards for last year's contestants, with some disappearing completely while others are on course to top the charts as we write this. Overall though, last year's show was one of the most successful to date, with all of the top 5 finalists being signed to major record labels.
Before we get to them however, let's start at the beginning...
Belle Amie were a four-member girl band made up in the bootcamp stages of last year's show, consisting of Rebecca Creighton, Esther Campbell, Geneva Lane and Sophia Wardman. Unfortunately the group struggled to pick up a fan base and were eliminated in the fourth live show of the competition against Kaite Waissel.
Since leaving the show the group has changed around a bit - with Geneva Lane leaving in January of this year. Rebecca, Esther and Sophia however have continued as a three piece and signed with Dodient records.
The group premiered their debut single and video 'Girls Up' last month, with the track set for release later this year the trio are setting their sights on the charts!

Treyc Cohen returned to the show last year after previously making it to the judges' houses in 2009. This time she made it that one step further to reach the live shows, albeit only just, picked as Cheryl Cole's wildcard.
Following her first performance on the show it was looking good for Treyc, with Cowell raving: "I am amazed that we overlooked you in this competition [...] by a far mile, that was the best vocal for the entire competition thus far"
Treyc's time in the competition came to a controversial end in Week 5, when she found herself in the bottom two alongside another of Cheryl's contestants, Katie Wassiel. Chezza refused to decide between the pair, leaving the other three judges to decide - who sent Treyc home. At the end of the series however it was revealed Treyc had actually received more votes than Katie.
It doesn't seem to have hurt Treyc however, the 27-year-old has moved into music theatre and is currently playing the lead role of Dorothy in a West Yorkshire Playhouse production of The Wiz; an urbanized retelling of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
19-year-old Aiden Grimshaw was a surprise exit in Week 6, leaving against Katie Waissel, who was in the bottom two for the third time in a row. The controversial decision to send the vote to deadlock saw the youngster booted out having received fewer votes over the weekend.
Since leaving the show, Aiden has been taking part in the show's tour and done a number of gigs but his future as a popstar looks uncertain.
It was reported in January after the show that Simon Cowell had offered Aiden a deal with his Syco record label, however nothing more about the supposed signing was ever reported.

Controversial Katie finally got the chop in Week 8 of the competition, having spent more times in the bottom two than out of it.
Having performed in The X Factor live tour and done a few local gigs like the other finalists, Katie went on to release a single called 'The Ugly Truth' but it shockingly failed to make a dent in the charts.
