So we now (finally) know the line-up of judges set to give acts their verdict in the upcoming series of The X Factor. And unsurprisingly, it is indeed Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland who are set to join the panel. But what is our opinion?
Well, I think it's an excellent panel of judges. I may be a bit annoyed at the unfair exit of Dannii Minogue but I can forgive the producers with the inclusion of worldwide superstar Kelly Rowland who was always my favourite of Destiny's Child. And really, Kelly is taking over from Dannii.
She's often overshadowed by Beyoncé, like Dannii is with sister Kylie. She's also extremely graceful and well-mannered in interviews and as demonstrated by her numerous TV appearances, she's always up for a laugh. Could she become a straight man to Louis' slightly eccentric crazy man? Add her music career which has spanned over 10 years and her solo success and you may just have your ideal judge!
There's also Take That legend Gary Barlow. Now, Gary isn't really the most interesting of speakers, well that's an understatement, he's got the charisma of a pineapple. However, his music career has extended for more than 20 years and his band's tour got off to a fantastic start at the weekend.
Then we come to the controversial pick, Tulisa of N-Dubz fame, yes, I'm actually genuinely excited to see her. Whilst most people question her place on the show, she has been in the business since the tender age of 12 and her group have had great success. I do think she may just be Cheryl circa 2008, the one to bring it back for the show.
Not much more can be said, Louis is still here and Louis' quirky comments and request for just about everyone to be in the final are expected to stay. I do think he and Kelly may just be the new partners in crime taking over from Cheryl and Simon. Is the show destined for failure? Is it heck.
