Mary Byrne's debut album Mine & Yours made an impressive impact in today's chart, debuting in the top 10 at number 6. The record, released by Simon Cowell's Syco label, managed to outsell tough competition from the likes of both Britney Spears and Radiohead throughout the week.
Britney's latest album Femme Fatale entered the charts at number 8, whilst Radiohead's The King Of Limbs is at number 7. There was no stopping Adele however who continued to top the album charts for a tenth week in a row - selling more than 250,000 copies of her album 21.
Elsewhere in the charts and The X Factor 2009 runner up Olly Murs continues to have success, with his debut album up four places at #24 this week, spending its 18th week in the Top 40 since its release last winter.
In the singles chart and Peter Kay's duet with Britain's Got Talent winner Susan Boyle on 'I Know Him So Well' slides down a massive 23 places to end up at #34.
Mary's album is the first from last year's X Factor alumni, with records from Cher Lloyd, One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle all expected to be released over the next 6 months.
