There's been a heck of a lot of speculation about this year's judging panel for The X Factor 2011, so much so that seems everyone from global superstars to ex-Big Brother Z listers has been linked to the show. With all the current rumours in mind, we asked at our authors here at TellyMix HQ who they want to see join the show this year!
If only for her sexy sultry tones, we'd love to see Cheryl Cole's bandmate Kimberley join The X Factor panel this year, especially with Cole said to be planning on jetting off to the states with Cowell
and abandoning us with just Louis Walsh for company. Kimba has a lot of things going for her as an X Factor judge: Firstly, she's been through the whole process herself in 2002 with Cheryl and the rest of Girls Aloud in the pre-cursor to The X Factor that was Popstars: Rivals. She clearly has the experience and expertise in the industry too, having racked up more than 20 top ten singles, 6 platinum albums and sell out arena tours with Girls Aloud.
Kimberley was previously linked to a role on The Xtra Factor last year, following on from her presenting the live linkups during 2009's final, so perhaps as an apology for lumbering us with Konnie Huq instead, Cowell may consider giving us the gift of Kimberley Walsh this year.
Plus, we personally see her as prettier than even Cheryl - which always helps!
TellyMix's acting co-editor Kevin reckons UK born R&B and soul singer Gabrielle would be his ideal judge. Famous for her iconic 'Dreams' song, Gabrielle may not as big a name as the likes of Nicole Sherzinger and Lily Allen but what she has is the experience in the music business that is essential for judging The X Factor. She is a great music artist, reasons Kevin, and a great role model for everyone. After all the antics of Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell on last year's show, Gabrielle would be a breath of fresh air for the show.
Since bursting onto the pop music scene in 2009 with two number one hits in the form of addictive tracks 'Mama Do' and 'Boys and Girls', Pixie Lott has certainly proved she's got talent to judge The X Factor, but does she have the personality? TellyMix's Junior Writer Mitchell seems to think so after her stint on the show during last year's series as a guest judge in Wales.
So what does Pixie Lott have going for her? Top of the list is that she actually tells rubbish acts they are rubbish! Lott wasn't afraid to show off her own opinions last year when she said no to Tom Richards - much to the annoyance of Louis Walsh. We'll be hoping that Simon Cowell looks Pixie's way again this year but this time for a more permanent position on the panel!
Our very own Rachel wants to see Canadian singer Michael Buble take up a place on the panel this year, and it's fair to say he's not new to the show. Buble has appeared on the programme multiple times over the years, both as a performer and also as a mentor to the contestants in 2009. Having won multiple Grammy awards and with a discography dating back close to 10 years, it's fair to say Buble certainly has the expertise and experience to take on the role.
Despite doing a lot of work in the states and Canada, Michael Buble's latest album Crazy Love has gone more than EIGHT times platinum here in the UK, proving that the big band singer has well and truly conquered the UK market and would be able to handle a place on The X Factor.
