Despite a deal with Simon Cowell's music label reportedly worth more than a million pounds, Mary Byrne's music career has got off to a ever so predictable tough start. The Irish singer's debut single, a cover of US country star Martina McBride's 'I Just Call You Mine', flopped in the charts at just 31.

Mary failed to beat even fellow Irish X Factor finalists Jedward in the charts, who are at number three with their Eurovision track 'Lipstick'.  However, fans of Mary need not fret because her album looks set to soar upwards when it's released in time for Mother's Day and promotion of her single will kick off within the next few weeks.
