Simon Cowell has spoken about pressing his golden buzzer on BGT 2014 for duo Bars and Melody.

Simon backed the teenager pair - Charlie, 15 from Bristol and Leondre, 13 from Wales - at the weekend after they performed their own version of Twista and Faith Evans’ Hope, which included a rap about being bullied in school.

With Simon having pressed his golden buzzer, the boys are now guaranteed a spot in the live shows later this year.

Simon said of their audition today: "It felt empowering. Everyone went nuts and they were really emotional. They are really great kids.

"I like the fact that they wrote their own song based on life experiences."

He continued: "People are going to root for them and they've got this great friendship that is so obvious when you watch them together."

Asked if he felt the pair could win, Simon added: " I do actually. When you've got that kind of support from the public going into the finals, it helps. So I think they're going to do well.

We caught up with Charlie and Leondre earlier today to chat all about their audition and plans for the live shows.
