X Factor star Chris Maloney has insisted he can sell records, despite a string of cheesy performances.
The Liverpudlian singer performed a cover of Waiting For A Star To Fall by Boy Meets Girl for this evening’s club classics theme.
Tulisa said: “I’ve got to be 100% honest, I wanted to give you a chance to see if you could make it more modern. It’s too cheesy for you, I don’t know why Gary is making you sing these songs. At least Rylan is fun cheese.”
But Chris insisted: "I really enjoyed it tonight.
"I'm just trying to do my best in each week that goes by. It's not just young people out there that watch the show, I personally think there's a market out there for me.
"The public keep voting me in so fingers crossed. I'm enjoying every single bit of this competition, I just want to do my best and hope to get further and further."
He added: "There's nans, mums, dads aunts, I hope there's somebody out there."
Meanwhile, fellow Overs category member Kye Sones said he was gobsmacked by his positive comments this weekend.
He said on the Xtra Factor: "This time last night I didn't have a voice, I've been silent all day just to get through that performance. The comments were amazing, I was gobsmacked. "
