West End performer Denise revealed today that she was preparing to let her competitive side out to make the final, but admitted it would be an uphill challenge.
She said: "If I go far I will start to get competitive, it’s just the way people are and we’ve already been warned.
"But we’ve got athletes among us, they’re machines, they can really go for it - Victoria’s going for gold and Louis Smith is so strong."
Denise also faces competition from pal Kimberley Walsh, who she climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro with back in 2009.
"We both climbed Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief so we’re made of tough stuff," Denise told the Daily Mirror. "In fact we’ve got a really great group of people this year.
"I haven’t seen one person I think is going to struggle. Johnny Ball is the oldest but he can really move.
"Jerry Hall’s done catwalks so she can move. That’s why you just can’t call it this year."
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One from October 5.
