X Factor 2012 wannabe Kye Sones has revealed he's still working as a chimney sweep.
The 30-year-old impressed the judges at try outs in London with a mash up of Coldplay's hose going to save the world tonight and RIP by Rita Ora, who was a guest judge on the panel.
Rita gushed after the performance: "Kye, Oh my gosh. You made RIP sound so cool man! Can I tell you something….you’re a superstar! You’re an actual superstar"
While Louis Walsh added: "We’re looking for The X Factor and I think we found The X Factor in you."
Speaking after the audition aired, Kye revealed he felt it would "too emotional" to watch it with his family.
He said: "I snuck away to watch last night’s show with a friend. I knew I’d be too emotional to watch it with my family. I couldn’t take it all in; it was like watching someone else. I was totally overwhelmed and was so grateful for the opportunity to audition."
Rye laughed: "Rita Ora looked beautiful as ever on the TV. I should take her out for dinner to thank her for all the nice things she said about me."
And he added: "It was a brilliant show. I loved Rylan. He’s hilarious – he should have his own TV show with all those one-liners."
It's a case of waiting now for Kye as he finds out whether he's made it through to the next round, and it's been straight back to work for the singer.
He explained to the official ITV1 website yesterday: "Believe it or not, I’ve got appointments [to sweeep chimneys] next week. Let’s hope I’ve boosted the industry!"
