Singing AND Dancing in the Rain, Ore Oduba to perform live for BBC Children in Need

As announced on Radio 2’s Steve Wright in the Afternoon today, presenter Ore Oduba will perform live for BBC Children in Need on Friday 17th November on BBC One. In an exclusive performance that’ll see last year’s Strictly Champion sing and dance together for the first time, Ore will recreate another classic routine inspired by dance hero Gene Kelly.

Ore dazzled viewers with his fancy footwork in 2016 with strictly professional dance partner Joanne Clifton, including a tribute to Singin’ in the Rain that drew praise from Kelly’s widow Patricia Ward. But can he sing as well as he can dance?

Ore said “I can’t wait to take the stage again, this time for BBC Children in Need! Strictly ignited a real passion for performing and I haven’t taken my dancing shoes off since. We want to put on a show and get the audience on their feet.

“Thank you Children in Need for letting me ‘Do My Thing’ all over again. Hopefully it’ll help inspire our fabulous Radio 2 listeners and everyone at home to get fundraising in their own way too.”

Other acts taking to the stage include the cast of Annie featuring Strictly’s very own Craig Revel Horwood as Miss Hannigan, and three of Theatreland’s fabulous leading ladies, Amber Riley from Dreamgirls, Beverley Knight from The Bodyguard and Cassidy Janson from Beautiful: The Carole King Musical who will dazzle us with a very special performance.

Plus, Katie Melua will sing this year’s official charity single, Fields of Gold.
