Rylan Clark-Neal to host revamped Supermarket Sweep on ITV2

Supermarket Sweep is heading back to our TV screens, it has been confirmed.

The ITV game show, hosted by the late Dale Winton, was HUGE in the 90s but finished on TV for the first time in 2001.

A one-year revival then aired in 2007 and now, a decade on from that, the show is on its way back again.

The first plans were revealed last year, before original host Dale’s untimely death in April.

X Factor star turned TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal has now confirmed he will be bringing back the show.

Rylan excitedly tweeted: “Been waiting a while to say this but it’s finally time to GO WILD IN THE AISLES ONCE AGAIN!

“Supermarket Sweep is back, and I can’t wait for you to CHECK IT OUT. See you soon on @itv2 #SupermarketSweep ❤️ ?????????”

A 20-episode series will air weeknights on ITV2 later this year.

Although it’s only now been officially confirmed, Rylan had seemingly let slip the news last year by posting part of a poster in a photo to Twitter.

“It’s time to go wild in the aisles once more as the classic Supermarket Sweep returns bigger, funnier, and wilder than ever before!” read the piece of paper in the snap.

In 2017, TV production company FremantleMedia announced they had acquired the rights to the show and had planned to beginning airing it again in 2018.

“It is a great addition to this year’s MIPCOM slate and given the interest we’ve had already we’re confident that everyone will be as excited for its return as we are.”

Freemantle is behind a number of huge TV shows including the likes of All Star Family Fortunes, Take Me Out, Celebrity Juice and QI.

They also make reality series including The Apprentice, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
