Viewing figures for Rylan Clark-Neal's new game show Babushka have dropped to fewer than 1.5 million viewers.

The new series kicked off on Monday in the 5PM slot on ITV with 2 million viewers.

Despite encouraging numbers, with the audience rising throughout the episode, the figures have dropped since.

1.8 million watched Tuesday's show while numbers dropped again to 1.49 million for last night's latest showing.

The figures are less than half what The Chase was managing last week, with a high of 3.5 million viewers.

Babushka is also below fellow ITV game show Tipping Point, which had 2 million viewers yesterday, and well below rival BBC One series Pointless which had 3 million.

The series is scheduled to air week days at 5PM for the rest of May before The Chase returns.

Elsewhere in yesterday's ratings, BBC doc Madeleine McCann: 10 Years On averaged 3.9 million viewers but it was Masterchef which topped the night for the channel outside of the news with 4.8 million.

On ITV in the evening, Corrie had 6.6 million viewers and Emmerdale enjoyed 5.8 million.

Benidorm finished its latest series with 3.5 million viewers while Tonight at the London Palladium continued with 3.3 million an hour earlier.

Over on Channel 5, a new episode of Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away! hit 1.5 million viewers, beating Confessions of a Junior Doctor on Channel 4 which had 1.1 million.
