The X Factor: Celebrity’s live shows continue this weekend on ITV.

And ahead of the third round of performances, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh have named Megan McKenna as the one to beat.

Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Louis said: “She is honestly amazing. And she is a great songwriter and she’s a great person.

“She’s everything I thought she wasn’t before the show and then I went to her house and she is just amazing. I had seen her on Big Brother and TOWIE and reality shows and she was kinda loud. She wasn’t always the perfect person.”

Nicole added: “It’s great because I hadn’t seen her and when I saw her at Simon’s house I just fell in love with her and her voice.”

Nicole also praised rugby trio Try Star, made up of Thom Evans, Ben Foden and Levi Davis, who she put through to this weekend’s episode with her safe seat.

The Pussycat Doll star opted to back the group ahead of one of her own acts, admitting: “I like to break the rules.”

She explained: “The song [they sang, ‘Swing Low’] has a very deep meaning in America, it’s an old black spiritual and so I just thought it was a beautiful song.

“But then I did some research and I understand that it’s the rugby anthem. I don’t know the sport very well but I love the camaraderie and the fight and the spirit and the heart.”

Nicole said she put the group through to this weekend’s live shows “for them [the England Rugby team] to get to the Final, for them and for the adoration and respect I have for this country.”

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday night, November 9, at 10PM on ITV.
