Doc Martin spoilers
Tonight's seventh episode (November 6) is called Single White Bevy
Caroline Quentin guest stars in this episode as local vet Angela Sim who has to consult Dr Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes) about a lump in her breast.
While at the surgery Angela comments on Buddy, the dog, not being himself. Buddy’s condition worsens and Martin rushes him to Angela’s surgery. He discovers Angela can barely see and diagnoses cat scratch fever. But her condition means she can’t operate on Buddy, and that the Doc must carry out the surgery himself, under her guidance, to save the dog.
Selina Cadell’s daughter Letty Thomas joins her for this episode of Doc Martin to play her character Mrs Tishell’s young cousin Sarah Cardy, who is shadowing her for some work experience. Initially seeing her as a protégé, this quickly changes when Mrs Tishell realises Sarah could have jeopardised her relationship with Martin by giving Louisa (Caroline Catz) the wrong medication to help with her fertility treatment.
One of Louisa’s clients, Bethany Degan, (Milly Toomey) arrives at the surgery unannounced, posing a dilemma for Louisa. She knows she shouldn’t be seeing her, but she just cannot turn away a desperate child, and hopes a quick session will not do any harm.
Al (Joe Absolom) is officially moving in with Morwenna (Jessica Ransom) ahead of their wedding. Caitlin (Angela Curran) is more thrilled by this than Bert,(Ian McNeice) who fears she has ulterior motives, now it’s just the two of them. Bert sees a softer side to Caitlin though, when they end up getting trapped in the cellar overnight. Maybe she isn’t as bad as he first thought?
Meanwhile Ruth (Eileen Atkins) is increasingly concerned about Martin’s upcoming final GMC assessment. She tries to offer advice, but quickly realises it is falling on deaf ears - until his blood phobia causes him to pass out again. Both Ruth and Louisa think an intervention may be the only thing that can help.
Doc Martin airs Wednesday nights at 9PM on ITV.
