Love Island’s Maura Higgins lands presenting gig on This Morning
Love Island’s Maura Higgins has landed a TV presenting gig on ITV’s This Morning.
The finalist on the 2019 series will appear on the day time show soon and joked she already has “flutters”.
According to the Daily Mirror, Maura will offer viewers “no-nonsense advice” to their problems in a phone-in as well as take part in a number of challenges in ‘Maura Than Meets the Eye’.
Maura said: “I’m getting flutters about joining This Morning. I can’t believe it. It’s beyond my wildest dreams.
“I’ve grown up watching Phillip, Holly, Eamonn, Ruth and the team. Mad to think I’m now part of that iconic family. Can’t wait to crack on.”
This Morning editor Martin Frizell added: “Maura was the stand out star of this year’s villa antics with her straight-talking opinionated views.”
Meanwhile, Maura’s partner on Love Island Curtis Pritchard could also be set for a TV role.
According to The Sun, the 23-year-old is in talks for the second series of BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer.
However, rather than a judge or a choreographer, he’s set to become its receptionist .
The receptionist chats to contestants as they arrive at auditions for the Simon Cowell-produced show.
“The receptionist role sounds a small one but it’s important first port of call for contestants,” a source said. “Their interactions with Curtis will set them up nicely before they go out in front of the dance captains.”
It was Greg O’Shea & Amber Gill who won love Island 2019 on Monday night beating Tommy Fury & Molly-Mae Hague Ovie Soko & India Reynolds and Curtis & Maura in the live final.
Despite being together for just 12 days, as the winning couple, the pair got to play for the £50,000 prize fund each walking away with £25,000.
Love Island will return in 2020 with TWO series as a new winter show launches in January joining the usual summer run.
Before then, a special reunion show will air on Sunday night, August 4 at 9PM.
