Taskmaster: 200 Extraordinary Tasks for Ordinary People book

Taskmaster: 200 Extraordinary Tasks for Ordinary People is the bestselling book based on the TV show.

The Dave series features Greg Davies as the all-powerful Taskmaster, setting a multitude of bewildering new assignments with the capacity to inspire both rank incompetence and utter genius from the celebrity contestants fighting for his love and admiration.

Statistical beaver and general dogsbody Alex Horne is always at Greg’s side, tail wagging happily, always eager to provide any assistance his overlord requires to aid the delivering of his ruthless judgements.

Alex is the author of the Taskmaster book and explains: “In the TV show and on my marriage certificate, my job description is ‘Taskmaster’s Assistant’. That’s what I do and it’s an honour.

“I like Taskmaster a lot. And, of course, I love The Taskmaster. He’s mountainous. If you feel in any way the same as me then you should enjoy this book.

“There are tasks for you, your friends and your family. There are secret things and sneaky tricks. And there is one swear word. So it’s almost exactly like being on the show.

“Good luck. Make good choices. Let’s do Him proud.”

The book is currently available now in hardcover and Kindle formats, with a paperback version released in September.

Meanwhile, the celebrity line up for Taskmaster’s series 9 has been confirmed.

Taking up in the next series in the autumn are David Baddiel (Olivier Award nominated comedian, author, and presenter), Ed Gamble (comedian, BBC Two’s Mock The Week regular and chart-topping podcaster with Off Menu) and Jo Brand (comedian, writer and star of BAFTA-winning series BBC Four’s Getting On).
