Amanda Byram to host new Sky 1 talent game show 'Don't stop Me Now'

Sky 1 has today announced plans for a brand new mix of a show called 'Don't Stop Me Now'. The reality talent entertaining game show (or something like that...) is a mash up of programmes like The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent and game shows and will be hosted by Irish telly beauty Amanda Byram.

Sky 1 bills the new programme as a "a rapid-fire, high-stakes talent contest where getting rid of the dross is as much fun as discovering moments of true talent and entertainment. "

So what is it and how does it work? It starts with the audience: Everyone in the crowd thinks they’re a superstar and wants the chance to prove it, a studio full of acts are all hoping that they’ll get called onto the stage to perform in front of the nation and win £25,000.

The stage will have three different looks for three different types of acts and will see stand-up comics, singers and variety acts all try their hand at impressing the audience.

The only downside is that if they’re not as good as they think they are they will be quite literally ejected from the show.

With the risk of a surprise exit via trap doors, horizontal bungees and exploding stages, it is a talent game show that takes no prisoners.

The rest of the audience act as judge and jury: every member of the studio audience has a voting keypad and the moment more than half of them have had enough, it’s all over for the performer.

Those who make it through the full 100 seconds will line up for the final judgement in which the host will reveal who will be the winning act and walk away with £25,000 prize money.

And every talent show needs a judge, with a special guest celebrity commentator joining host Amanda to review and analyse the acts during their moments, or sometimes seconds, of glory.

Speaking about her new role, Amanda said: “I’m so thrilled to be a part of such a fun, exciting, new talent show. We’re hoping to find some serious talent along the way, but contestants be warned! One bum note or bad joke and your hopes and dreams of success will be literally swept away from you, with a dramatic departure from the show…”

The show will air on Sky 1 later this year
