The new series of five episodes is back for 2019 with some superstar guests.

In each episode of the upcoming extraordinary series, Piers will delve into the lives and minds of his guests, all of whom have enjoyed lengthy careers under the glare of the media spotlight.

The third celebrity in the hot seat was Michael Barrymore.

In an emotional interview, the former king of Saturday night television opened up about his astronomical fall from grace and discussed the tragic events which resulted in the death of Stuart Lubbock at his house in 2001.

He also talked about his close friendship with Princess Diana, the depths of his drug and alcohol addictions and the dramatic moment in which he came out as gay.

Other guests appearing in the new series of Life Stories include Sir Michael Parkinson, The Apprentice’s Lord Sugar, Football Manager and I’m a Celebrity’s latest King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp and Spice Girl Mel B.

In previous series of the show, Piers has interviewed more than 85 famous personalities including Sir Elton John, Mary Berry, Kim Cattrall, Sir Rod Stewart, Sir Richard Branson, Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell, Nigel Farage, James Corden, Gordon Brown when he was Prime Minister, Sir Mo Farah and Lionel Richie.
