Dannii Minogue could be set for a comeback to The X Factor this year.
Rumour has it that Simon Cowell is keen to sign up the former judge as part of this year’s All Star and Celebrity X Factor series.
The traditional X Factor is being rested for 2019, replaced by two special shows.
And alongside a set of all star contestants, Simon is said to want an all star line up of judges.
Dannii, a judge on The X Factor UK between 2007 and 2010, is said to be in talks to return for the special.
After X Factor, Dannii took part in both Australia’s Got Talent and The X Factor in Australia, before returning to UK TV in 2017 on Gary Barlow’s BBC One singing show Let It Shine.
“X Factor bosses would love to have Dannii back on the panel — she was part of the show’s dream team in its heyday,” a source told The Sun newspaper. “Her chemistry with the other judges was electric and she loved the role.”
They added: ““She’s definitely tempted, and will always be loyal to the show as it gave her such a great platform, but she is really happy with her life now and isn’t sure she wants to rock the boat.
Following the news that Ayda and Robbie Williams had both left the show, it was also rumoured that the likes of Cheryl, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and even Louis Walsh could be on their way back.
According to The Sun, the judging panel could be cut to three – but will be different for the two planned series.
An insider suggested that Louis Tomlinson was unlikely to be a part of either, but could return next year.
Meanwhile, familiar faces rumoured for the X Factor Celebrity series include Gemma Collins and Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams.
The All Stars line up could see returning contestants such as Fleur East, Honey G, Sam Bailey, Shayne Ward and Jedward.
The X Factor airs on ITV.
The show typically begins in September but so far no details about this year’s schedule have been confirmed.
