Series 1 of ITV drama The Bay is now available to purchase on DVD, Blu-Ray and streaming.
The Bay sees Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong assigned to a missing persons investigation. At first it seems like any other – tragic, but all too familiar.
As a Family Liaison Officer, she’s trained never to get emotionally involved. Her job is to support families during the worst time of their lives whilst also to be the eyes and ears of the police investigation; a cuckoo in the nest.
But there’s something very different about this particular case. With horror Lisa realises she’s got a personal connection with this frightened family; one that could compromise her and the investigation.

The Bay series 1 cast includes Morven Christie as DS Lisa Armstrong, Jonas Armstrong as Sean Meredith, Matthew McNulty as Nick Mooney, Daniel Ryan as DI Anthony ‘Tony’ Manning, Taheen Modak as DC Ahmed ‘Med’ Kharim, Chanel Cresswell as Jess Meredith, Lindsey Coulson as Penny Armstrong, Imogen King as Abbie Armstrong, Art Parkinson as Rob Armstrong and Tracie Bennett as Margaret Foley.
The Bay was created by Daragh Carville & Richard Clark. Daragh Carville wrote all six episodes, with Kate O’Riordan co-writing episode 5. Lee Haven Jones directs the first three episodes with Robert Quinn directing episodes 4-6.
A synopsis of the show reads:
DS Lisa Armstrong is assigned as the Family Liaison Officer to the case of two missing teenage twins, Holly and Dylan Meredith, who have disappeared from their home in Morecambe.
After meeting the twins’ parents, Lisa is shocked to discover that her connection to the family might be more than just professional.
