ITV1 has already axed The Marriage Ref, hosted by X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary, after just the one series. The UK version of the US show failed to take off, with less than 2 million viewers tuning in during Saturday night primetime. The poor ratings eventually saw the flop shifted to a later slot.
Today it was unsurprisingly confirmed the series - which sees a panel of comics decide who is right between arguing couples - would not be returning.
Just 1.8 million viewers tuned into the final episode on Saturday.
An insider told The Sun: "The Marriage Ref is definitely not coming back. Ratings were just not strong enough.
"The figures have to be higher than this for a prime-time Saturday night show to work."
Fortunately for both ITV and Dermot, The X Factor returns on August 20.
