Actress Jane Horrocks has revealed her experience taking part in so many adverts for Tesco has helped her prepare for new comedy Trollied. The new Sky 1 HD series, which debuts on August 4, sees Horrocks play the role of acting deputy manage Julie at the ficitonal Velco supermarket.
Jane told BANG! Showbiz she wasn't itimindated by the huge imitation set for the fake supermarket, and praised the detail that's gone into the new series.
She said: "I've done a lot of Tesco ads. I was a bit more jaded about it than the other members of the staff although the art department did a fantastic job.
"The velcro logo which was attached to a lot of the products looked very, very real. It was incredibly believable but the art department did a superb job."
Jane's co-star Jason Watkins was also hugely impressed by the amount of time that has gone into the series.
"It's set in Bristol. It's really impressive for a set," he said, "You walk through a sort-of warehouse, massive space, then you go through a door and there is what looks just like Sainsburys. It's huge, it's got 10 aisles, and I get very excited. Go wild in the aisles.
"If you took somebody in blindfolded, and took the blindfold off in the middle of the supermarket and looked round - it's a supermarket, and I think that helped because it was just real and believable."
The new original comedy series also stars This is England's Chanel Cresswell and Corrie star and will premiere on Sky 1 HD at 9PM on August 4 with a double episode.
