We take a look at new Sky1HD comedy 'Trollied' starring Jane Horrocks and Mark Addy

We all love fictional places of work, whether it's Wernham Hogg Paper Merchants, Springfield Nuclear Power Plant or the Queen Vic. However, the new place of work on everyone's lips will be Valco, the supermarket which is at the heart of new Sky1HD comedy programme Trollied.

Starring Bafta and Golden Globe® nominee Jane Horrocks, former Coronation Street actress Rita May, Lorraine Cheshire, best known for her roles in Waterloo Road and Early Doors, Mark Addy, star of The Full Monty and a whole load of familiar faces, Trollied takes the everyday lives of a number of supermarket workers and sheds a very humorous light on them.

An official statement from Sky said: ''Set in ''Valco'',  a fictional budget supermarket on the outskirts of Manchester, Trollied takes a comic look at a setting we’ve all spent too much of our lives in. Whether buying pasta, arguing with our loved ones or just trying to explain why we don’t want yet another loyalty card, everyone is familiar with the setting.''

The show is produced by Ash Astalla, best known for workplace comedies The IT Crowd and The Office and revolves around the familiar settings of a supermarket, the unenthusiastic youngsters at the checkout tills, the ineffective managers and the eccentric customers. If you, like us at TellyMix are intrigued by this new comedy show, don't miss the show's premiere on Thursday 4th August on Sky1HD.
