Dalton Harris is looking hard to beat on The X Factor 2018 this year.

Dalton Andre Harris has tightened his grip at the head of the X Factor betting after his performance during Halloween week saw his odds shorten.

The 24-year-old Jamaican singer blew the judges and viewers away with his haunting rendition of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. As he begins to set himself apart from the competition, his odds are following suit as he is now the Even money favourite to win having been priced at 11/8 before Saturday’s performance.

Despite another pitch-perfect performance from Shan, the judges weren’t sold on the song choice of ‘The Sound Of Silence’ and it seems punters weren’t either as her odds have been eased out to 10/3 from 11/4, however she remains the second favourite to win.

Anthony Russell and Danny Tetley fell victim to sound issues that left their voices sound distorted, which resulted in voting being cancelled for the first time in 14 years with lines reopened on Sunday.

The sound issues surprisingly had a positive impact on Anthony’s chances of winning as his odds were cut to 7/1 from 8/1 after a burst of fresh support.

Scarlett Lee is another mover in the betting with her odds shortening into 8/1 from 10/1 following a powerful performance of ‘I Put a Spell on You’.

Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for bookies BoyleSports commented: “It was a two-horse race between Dalton and Shan before the weekend’s performances on the X Factor, but Dalton has completely broken away and is now the clear favourite after shortening into even money.”

She added “Shan has in fact drifted out to 10/3 from 11/4 as it appears viewers weren’t keen on her take on The Sound of Silence.”
