The X Factor 2018’s Fright night airs tonight – and the judges have been getting into the spooky theme.

For this evening’s episode – starting 8:35PM on ITV – Robbie Williams comes dressed as Simon Cowell – complete with unbuttoned white shirt – while Simon himself got into the spirit of things by dressing up as a mummy.

The X Factor’s live shows continued last weekend with a ‘Guilty Pleasures’ theme.

Two contestants got the boot in the second X Factor 2018 results as Janice Robinson and LMA Choir were both eliminated. Plus, there were guest performances from X Factor’s own Little Mix and Kylie Minogue.

It starts all over again on Saturday night with a brand new theme, Fright Night for Halloween.

This weekend will see a special guest judge, as Nile Rodgers joins the show. He’ll takeover from Robbie on Sunday night, who has to miss the show due to tour commitments.

Currently a total of 12 contestants are left in the competition.

Making up Robbie’s groups are duo Acacia and Aaliyah, Misunderstood and boy band United Vibe, while the Girls’ category mentored by Simon Cowell is made up of Bella Penfold, Molly Scott, Scarlett Lee, and Shan Ako.

In the Boys category, mentored by Louis Tomlinson, are Anthony Russell, Brendan Murray and Dalton Andre Harris. Ayda Williams leads The Overs, now made up of just Danny Tetley and Giovanni Spano.

Unfortunately for Ayda, there could be more bad news for her acts.

Giovanni finds himself chalked up as the favourite to leave next, which could leave Ayda with only the one act.

A spokesperson for bookies Coral said: “It was a surprise to see Giovanni sail through last weekend.

“We still think he might well be on borrowed time.

On the other hand, Dalton continues as the firm favourite for victory.

“It’s one way traffic in terms of our betting on who will win X Factor this year and after a steady start Dalton is now absolutely flying,” Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said. “Our punters are absolutely backing him without any doubts in their minds and it looks like he’s got just what it takes to go all the way.”

Alongside the latest live performances from the acts, this week there will be guest performances from One Direction’s Liam Payne and 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur.

The X Factor airs on ITV this Saturday at 8:35PM.

The second results show at the later than usual time of 8:30PM on the Sunday.
