Tonight’s X Factor 2018 results have caused quite the reaction online.

The X Factor went live for the first time this weekend with a ‘This Is Me theme’.

Two acts were eliminated in the X Factor 2018 results as both Olatunji Yearwood and Armstrong Martins got the boot.

Olatunji was automatically sent home after polling the least public votes while Armstrong faced Janice Robinson in the sing-off after receiving the next fewest votes from viewers.

After Janice and Armstrong sang again, the judges decided who to save with Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams and Robbie Williams all sending home Armstrong. Louis Tomlinson stood by his act and sent home Janice.

The sing-off result didn’t impress many, with a lot of fans on Twitter accusing Robbie of being ‘biased’ towards his wife’s act.

@LadyDetectives1 tweeted: “That’s why a husband and wife shouldn’t be judged on #xfactor – Armstrong was clearly the far better act & Robbie just appeased his wife!!! Absolute joke!!! He shouldn’t have gone!!!!”

Added @fuglybrooklyn: “Of course robbie is sending armstrong home its really not a good idea having a husband and wife on this panel it should against the rules #XFactor”

And @simone_redhead agreed: “Of course Robbie Williams is sending home Armstrong, he may aswel be managing the Overs category along with his wife! Who’s bright idea was it to put husband and wife on the same judging panel!?”

@Roxanne_1D posted: “There’s actually a lot of #XFactor contestants who need to go before Armstrong. Some of the girls, overs and the groups … and Robbie and his wife they need to stop playing favorites! Don’t care if they’re married or not… talent is talent!”

But some supported the outcome.

@tomconchie1991 tweeted: “Everyone fuming that @robbiewilliams picked Janice over Armstrong, saying he just backed up his wife …. maybe he just has his own mind ??‍♂️? #XFactor”

And @ElizabethPetch agreed: “Janice should 100% go through #xfactor”
