A drag act called Gingzilla took his act to The X Factor 2018 tonight.
The X Factor continued on ITV tonight with penultimate round of auditions.
Behind the judges desk were Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson, with acts needing at least three yeses to get through..
And as well as facing the judges, the hopefuls this year are singing for the 4,000 strong audience at The SSE Arena, Wembley.
One of the contestants we met in Saturday’s show was Gingzilla, a 32 year old drag queen from Sydney, Australia.
He gave the panel quite a shock, declaring: “I’m going to be so different you won’t even know what’s hit you.”
“I’m deliciously confused,” laughed Robbie, “Let’s see what happened when you sing.”
Gingzilla sings The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army and had all the judges won over.
“That was incredible and the next time I do a swing album, will you duet with me doing that version?” says Robbie.
Ayda adds: “I loved every single mad moment of that.”
“That was a brilliant audition,” said Louis.
And Simon concluded: “Your voice is better than even you know.”
With four yeses, Gingzilla sailed through to the next round. You can watch their audition in the video above.
Other acts we saw auditioning on The X Factor tonight were Louise Setara, a 30 year old cleaner who sings an original song, Cezar Ouatu, a 38 year old singing teacher who surprises the judges, and Panda Ross, who previously appeared on The X Factor in the USA.
There was also Malta’s Gaia Cauchi who previously represented Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and won with her song The Start.
The X Factor airs Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
