The X Factor 2018 is back on ITV tonight (Saturday) and here’s a first preview at the latest contestants.
We’re now past the halfway point of this year’s auditions but there remains plenty of talented (and not so talented) acts to see.
Tonight sees the arena try outs continue as the latest batch of hopefuls find themselves in front of not only the judges but a 4,000 strong audience.
Simon Cowell, Ayda Williams, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson are back behind the panel for the penultimate round of auditions.
And as always, they’re accompanied by host Dermot O’Leary who returns to guide us through the series continuing tonight.
This evening, Dermot will be welcoming another nine acts to the arena where they’ll need to leave with three yeses to make it through to next weekend’s six chair challenge.

Sammi Shepherd is an entertainer from near Blackpool. The professional singer says Robbie is an idol of hers and hopes to impress the judges with a cover of Rag’n’Bone Man’s Human.
38 year old singing teacher Cezar Ouatu was born in Romania but grew up in Italy and is now in London singing for The X Factor judges. “It was a long journey for me but I’m really, really happy to be here tonight,” he says. “For me it’s a great moment because this is one of my biggest dreams today…” He sings Nessan Dorma for the judges.
30 year old cleaner Louise Setara isn’t a stranger to the music industry having previously held a recording contract a decade ago. “I was signed but then I met someone and I gave up music, got married and had kids,” she explains. For her audition, Louise opts to sing an original song called A Moment Of Your Time. “I wrote it about a conversation that happened between me and at the time husband,” she tells the judges.
Claire Angel Bryan
35 year old Claire Angel Bryan has been singing since she was a teenager and is also a full time carer to her poor mum, who is backstage to support her. Claire sings Sam Cooke’s Change is Gonna Come for the judges.
48 year old Panda Ross is a barista from Dallas, Texas. She previously auditioned for The X Factor and USA and says: “Six years later I’m back to settle some unfinished business with Simon Cowell. He’s gotten a little bit older but he’s still sexier!” Panda sings Aretha Franklin classic Natural Woman.
20 year old student Charlotte Lilly brings along her CATS to her audition, who she says also join her when she goes busking. For her arena audition, Charlotte puts a unique spin on Village People’s YMCA.
15 year old student from Malta Gaia Cauchi previously had some success in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Now taking on The X Factor, she sings Paloma Faith’s Only Love Can Hurt Like This for her first audition.
32 year old drag queen Gingzilla is from Sydney, Australia. He gives the panel quite a shock, declaring: “I’m going to be so different you won’t even know what’s hit you.” Gingzilla’s cover of The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army leaves Robbie “deliciously confused. ”
25 year old singer J Sol performs an original song called Bullet In my Heart in memory of his late mum Victoria. He says: “I suddenly lost my mum in 2015. I’ve always been terrified of doing this show, but I was going through texts and my mum was always telling me ‘You need to do X Factor’ and I always said no but reading the text I thought, I want to finally tick off something she’s wanted me to do.”
