Janice Robinson, the original singer in 90s dance act Livin’ Joy, has entered The X Factor 2018.

Janice found success in 1994 as the co-writer and vocalist of Livin’ Joy’s biggest hit ‘Dreamer’.

The track was a number one smash in the UK, and also topped the Billboard dance chart in the US.

And it’s the song she performs on The X Factor this weekend when the new series kicks off.

You can watch Janice’s audition below…

Janice left Livin’ Joy in 1996 and went on to perform as an opening act on Tina Turner’s world tour in 2000.

Now Janice is set to return to the public limelight as a contestant on The X Factor.

Ahead of the show’s return to ITV this weekend, Dermot O’Leary teased Janice’s try-out, which apparently ‘brought the house down’ at the SSE Arena in Wembley.

“It was one of those great arena moments!” he exclaimed.

“I am a fan of the room auditions because I like to see the progression from the room to the arena to Judges’ Houses.

“But you can’t deny the impact when a good audition hits home with a live audience.”

A source previously told the Metro why Janice has decided to give the ITV talent contest a shot.

“Janice didn’t feel like she was living her truth [in the band] and now she wanted to be herself,” they said.

“Be Janice Robinson, not Livin’ Joy.”

You’ll have to watch the new series, starting this weekend, to find out how far Janice goes in the competition.

The American star isn’t the only familiar face viewers will see on The X Factor in the coming weeks.

Former contestants Anthony Russell and Scarlett Lee have both returned for another chance after failing to make it last year.

The X Factor returns to ITV this Saturday and Sunday at 8.00pm.
