BBC One confirms All Together Now is getting a celebrity spin-off

BBC One has officially ordered a celebrity special of Rob Beckett-hosted singing gameshow All Together Now.

Launched earlier this year, All Together Now challenges wannabe popstars to impress not three, not four, but 100 judges.

They belt out their chosen song, and if the judges like what they hear, they stand up and sing along.

The more members of the panel that join in, the higher that contestant scores.

Now some familiar names are about to take on The 100, as bosses have commissioned a one-off celebrity edition.

‘All Together Now Celebrities’ will see a variety of stars form a mixture of soloists and groups, performing songs from a range of musical genres.

Although not known for it, the one thing they all have in common is that they can sing… or at least think they can.

Rob will resume presenting duties, while former Spice Girls member Geri Horner is returning as captain of The 100.

Kate Phillips, the Beeb’s controller of entertainment commissioning, said: “Previously on BBC One we’ve seen celebrities enter the ballroom, the boardroom, the kitchen.

“But All Together Now may well present them with their toughest challenge yet as they attempt to hit the right notes and get The 100 on their feet. It’s going to be an unforgettable singalong.”

Executive producer James Fox added: “They say that everyone’s got one great performance in them. We can’t wait to find out how true that is as a whole host of famous faces take on The 100.

“It’s going to be a feel-good, laugh-out-loud show that will get everybody joining in.”

All Together Now Celebrities is due to hit our screens later this year.

A second full series will follow in early 2019, featuring more members of the public vying to take home a £50,000 prize.

The news comes as the Endemol Shine-produced show begins to make waves around the world.

Australia’s Seven Network is launching its own adaptation, with Boyzone frontman Ronan Keating leading its 100 panellists.

Broadcasters in France, Germany and Brazil have also picked up the format.
