Last week, Louis Walsh stepped down as an X Factor judge for the third time after 13 years on the panel. The Irish music mogul has left yet another vacancy on the panel with Nicole Scherzinger also left out of this year’s line-up.
Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne are firm 1/100 contenders to return, but who will the newbies be?
The betting suggests that they may not be entirely new to the X Factor judging panel as both Robbie Williams and Rita Ora see odds-on prices of 1/6 and 1/4 respectively and have both featured on the show as guest judges in previous years.
Mel B’s name has also been circulating the X Factor judges rumour mill. Having been a guest judge on both the Australian and British versions of the show, she has gone into the betting at 5/1.
Two former X Factor contestants are also in the running as One Directioner Louis Tomlinson and Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards are both 13/2 shots.
Aoife Heffron, Spokesperson for BoyleSports commented “Reports have emerged that Simon Cowell has been trying to lock in Robbie Williams as a permanent judge on the X Factor for some time now and that negotiations have already started which could see his short 1/6 odds collapse in the coming days.”
She added “Rita Ora was heavily tipped to replace Nicole Scherzinger once the news broke that the former Pussycat Doll’s contract was not renewed for the upcoming season and she remains in a strong position at 1/4. Ora has a host of experience on the X Factor having been a guest judge on numerous occasions, most notably in 2012 when she took over from Kelly Rowland.”
